That doesn't fly in New England, the ebrake cables almost never come out in one piece! If you notice, the subframe is out in this picture anyway. I disconnected the trailing arms and brake lines and then pulled the subframe straight down. It's much easier to press the old bushings out on the bench, even with the special tools. Plus this way I was able clean up the bushing cups in the blast cabinet before the new urethane bushing got pressed in! Trailing arm bushings are a cinch with the arms hanging like that as long as you have the right tools... :-)

So psyched!!!
The guys at AVA are literally miracle workers! Never half assed anything. Originally brought it in to install the clutch slave cylinder and they wouldn't touch it until they took the bell housing off and looked at it themselves.
Then they figured out the motor was shot and that day started wailing on it to get it done! Highly recommend them if anyone needs any work done!The best one-stop shopping for German car parts and lifestyle: http://www.gutenparts.com/
