    obd2 wiring info

I have some info and some questions about obd2 wiring changes. Previously I have made a thread like this about c101 wiring for mixed year engine swaps.

    X20
    Pin Color Function
    1
    2
    3 gr/vi exhaust flap activate
    4 bk/bl AC Compressor control relay +12?
    5 bk/gr AC Pressure switch
    6 vi/gn AC on signal(climate control)
    7 gn EWS signal
    8 rd/wi exhaust gas flap valve+carbon cannister valve(+12) +12@run
    9 br/rd speed signal right rear (ACS/ABS)
    10
    11 br/yl coolant temp cluster
    12 br/vi coolant temp cluster
    13 gn/vi fuel pump relay +12@start/run
    14
    15 bk/gn starter(signal to other things)
    16 wt/yl data link pin 15
    17 wt/vi data link pin 20
    18 bk/yl start +12@start
    19 wt/gn data link pin 7
    20 bk crankshaft rpm speed
    21 gn unloader relay +12@start/on
    22 gn/wt data link pin 16, reverse switch +12?
    23 br/gn oil pres signal
    24 wt/bl fuel consumption
    25 bl alternator,data link pin 12 12

    X6031
    Pin Color Function
    1 gr Check Engine
2 gn/bl carbon canister valve activate
    3 gn/rd fuel consumption
    4 wt/vi/yl pin 7 obd2 data link pin 2
    5 yl/rd fuel tank pres
    6 rd/gn +5v to TPS/fueltankpres
    7 br/bk gnd (rpm/fuel tank pres)
    8 bk/vi/yl data link pin 4 fuse 46
    9
    10
    11
    12

Ok so first question that comes up for me. Fuel economy gauge. x6031-3 goes to x6000-46 and is labeled TI blah blah fuel consumption. x20-24 goes to x6000-9 and is labeled TI blah blah fuel consumption. Is there any way in hell that BMW put in redundant fuel consumption signals? There is some speculation that x6031-3 is the vehicle speed wire, can anyone confirm this?

Next question, x20-9 (x6000-15)is an ABS level speed signal. Does this wire require signal to keep codes from popping up? Is it another wire on the x6000?

    any other tips?

Kadunza posted this a while back on facebook:

I'm running my VSS per that diagram, not through the X6031. I'm not up and running yet, but hoping for a first start today.

Next question. X20-21 unloader relay, looks like it needs 12v at run and start. Should I give it c104-2 which is main relay power in e30.

X20-21 per the diagram and the pinout I used should be +12v for ignition switch.
            In my 1990 325is, that's C101-7

C101-7 provides 12v for the ignition coil

Store photos and docs online. Access them from any PC, Mac or phone. Create and work together on Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents.

Here is my wiring breakdown so far for an early model e30 with c101 and c104.

Where are people hooking up their AC wiring, x20-6?
anybody hooked up a charcoal canister?

From the looks of it I'm going to have an abundance of +12v wires.
