    1991 M-TECH II 771 - Questions! - Should I buy

    1991 M-TECH II 771 - Questions!
Hello all! I have just been given the opportunity to buy a vin verified M-Tech 2 Lux (771). Very excited for this rare opportunity.

I would be the 3rd owner at 100K. The only things that was replaced was the rear sup and the top. However, I do have a few questions:

Aside from little things that I will fix myself, how concerned should be be with these (i think) oil leaks? After the car sat for a month there were a few drops of oil on the ground, nothing major. I know the power stressing rez. is leaking (above link 1) but this seems to be from within the engine...
The link 1 is hard to see but i am referring to is the area below the little filter/sensor. Link two is obvious. Link three is of the over all engine. Other than a serious detailing needed the car is in very good condidtion.

    THANKS!

oil leaks arnt a serious problem, those will not cause anything other than a spot on the driveway. judging from the corrosion on the motor, id be more worried about the body condition

Put that thing on lift and go over the body carefully. Being a North East car, I agree with Sasquatch440, body rust would be my concern. All the engine leaks are normal for a car this old.

Leak 1 looks like the oil drain tube, 12 bucks in parts not a big deal. Shame it's an auto though.

        Good luck.

Great. Thanks for the info. The car has apparently never seen rain... Underbelly and body is cleaner than my 2014 ST.

Just bought the car... woo! Now on to the incredible amount of slop within the steering wheel.

Anyhow, can't wait to enjoy the car for the new few moths before it going into storage... damn snow!!!

Good I hate that saying....never seen rain, what happened on the days it sat on the dealers lot or was being transported.

Right? And what if it sat inside the dealers showroom and it rained outside? If the headlights were pointed in the right direction, it would have seen the rain out of the windows.

The appropriate expression is "never DRIVEN in rain" :)
