        He and Bill Gates put a lot of $ into lobbying for them to become street-legal.

        About ten years ago, Road & Track did a shoot out between the '88 959 and the '97 911 Turbo S.

          Yeah Ralph Lauren and Bill Gates are a few of the owners in the states. (IIRC there are only 3 or so in the states.)
