I could order one new for you, but just finding that crank is going to be imposible. or I could even try to find you a used complete motor, but shipping a complete motor is EXPENSIVE!

M47 motors are pretty common, but not in the junkyards.-- they hold up to 300,000km no problem.

        just hoping against hope.

im sure i could order one from the dealer here, i recall someone saying they were asking round $800US with bearings.

Really, im just asking for one of you guys to keep an eye out for one in the junkyards. Help me out and make a few bucks at the same time.

dude, M47s arent in the junk yards, and if they are, they are BROKEN! and if I find one, it is going into my garage for when my wifes blows up one day-- the east europeans buy up anything old and diesel--ship it east-- and run it off of house heating oil.

i will check and see what my price is on the crank here.

            not exactly cheap.

I got that. You know, people do run perfectly good cars into other perfectly good cars that are then deemed unrepairable. said cars will end up in junkyards with perfectly good motors.

Thanks for looking for me, not really a pice cut... i bit the bullet and ordered one.

is that crank usable in the M42? am I thinking correctly?
                2.0 M42/M44= M47 crank+?

                  yes. m42 + m47 crank, m20/m50/any 135mm rods, and s52 pistons = 2.1L m42

EDIT: Trying to blow all my money on a maybe 200hp m42. waste of money... most likely
