    Bad evap system= rough warm-up?

For a few...months, now, my '86 es has had a wonky idle when warming up from a cold start. It'll start fine and run ok for about 1-2 minutes, then the engine begins to feel like it misfires until it's at full operating temperature. Once there, it runs beautifully. Also sometimes smells a bit rich warming up. This problem ONLY appears during warm-up, ever. I have checked everything I can imagine, but today I came across info about the evap system. If the coolant temperature switch is held open during warm-up, the engine will run rough. I have an electric switch, not the vacuum variety mentioned on the hiperformancestore.com guide. This perfectly describes my issue. My questions are, 1. Has any other eta owner had my issue, and can confirm that was the problem; and 2. How is the temperature switch itself tested? It's the two-pronged sensor on the thermostat housing.
    Thanks!
Working...
