Nice to see that Greg LeMond is back, producing nice steel bikes, making those nice carbon bikes with TIME in France, and now partnering with this Australian research university to produce lower cost carbon fiber.

Road Cycling - Anyone ridden a LeMond Washoe? - I follow LeMond on FB, and he always posts photos of the new steel Washoe being assembled. I'm not in the market for a steel bike, but I really do think it's a great looking frame in orange. Has anyone here ridden one? Is it comparable to other modern steel bikes, or is

It sounds like the Washoe was made by Zen Fabrication in Portland until that company closed down. Not sure who makes the frames now.

Anyone here have experience with motorized bikes? Just picked up a cruiser to commute to school with but am interested in either converting it to electric or gas.

^^ I do not. I've seen production electrics around lately. Some of them pretty slick. How does an add-on set-up work?

              Pics!...
My son's ragtag fleet and cross bike. It's got Campy shifters / brakes, Shimano derailleurs with an adapter, and some SRAM piece somewhere I forget - it's a weird hybrid of new and used parts. Those tubeless wheels are kind of cool - they can air down for races with no pinch flats.

No bike riding here for weeks - forest fire smoke is bad, air warnings every day.

Bunch of bikes on the back of an E30 = would get an enthusiastic thumbs-up from me on the road.

For the first time in 17 years, I got tossed off the bike last night. I think I had a slow leak in the front tire, leaned into a fast downhill corner, and rolled onto the sidewall of the tire dumping me in a sliding heap on the ground. I was doing about 40 when this happened. Needless to say, I'm a little sore today (Happened last night) The bike is more or less ok. I was able to ride it the 10 miles home. It now has a flat front tire leading me to believe the slow leak is what got me.

Nothing deep, just a good bruise on my left shoulder and right hamstring. the rest is just missing upper layer of skin. (that stings like hell.)

The girly just ordered one of these Sondors bikes.

My step brother backed the company when they were in their kickstart phase and received one of their first production bikes a couples years ago. He has the version with the thick tires and loves it, so hopefully the Thin model is just as good.

The tinkerer side of me doesn't want to buy a production bike, so I am leaning towards a kit. I'm sure the price will be a little less, and performance would be slightly better if I was to piece it together myself as well, but not much.

Ive been looking at kits similar to these but still doing research and deciding if I want to actually make the leap. Im sure there are also better options out there.

NOTE: If you have a bicycle with a one-piece crank, you will need to buy a bottom bracket conversion kit separately. Just picked one up the other day, I'm a little big for it but it's fun to ride. They need a once over before riding because WalMart employees aren't the most inclined bunch of people.

HaHa! I love it. That looks absolutely awesome. Thats how I got the nickname skids when I was still a teenager. Bodysurfing pavement!

My favorite was back in the day with the sewups, dodging traffic i banked it over so hard to the right i ripped the sidewall in half. Of course I went down but was able to get feet out of rattraps and roll as I slid to distribute weight.

I had roadrash on all pressure points, wrists, knees, hips, chin, ankles, nipples, all over the place. A little sore but nothing broken plus plenty of witness who were amazed a guy could get off a bike at 35 mph or so and walk away!

Wood from old whisky casks have been used for the first time in the making of a bicycle.

Each frame for the bikes uses about 15 staves from casks used in making whisky at Glenmorangie's distillery in Tain in Easter Ross. The casks are shipped from Scotland to the US and then taken to bike-builder Renovo's workshop in Oregon. Renovo specialises in using wood and has made more than 1,000 bikes with wooden frames since launching in 2007. The whisky cask bicycles, described as a world first by the distiller and bike-makers, cost more than £5,000 to buy.
