It will all depend on the size of the stock injectors.. but with my experience of tuning different cars for over 20 years...my experience has been 4-5PSI max with stock injectors(usually only have room for approx 15% increase in power), M62 has built in knock sensors that can back up timing to protect the engine from complete destruction but to a certain point and being so protected engine would probably go LIMP mode (not sure if only the VANOS version of the M62 engine has that built in feature). For every 1PSI of boost you need to remove 0.5-1.5 Timing depending on engine to be safe and of course fuel needs to be in the between 11-12 AFR too... you could run a FPR and an MSD ignition box (model with MAP sensor that can retard timing). You could get the 404 to be reprogrammed for bigger injectors.. less timing, reworked VE map with target AFR with widebands to replace the narrowbands.. but the cost would probably start to be a lot closer to standalone in which case nothing beats getting rid of the crappy MAF sensor and go MAP (50% ratio MAP and 50% TPS) for smoothness and reliability (extra big bonus bye bye problems with boost leaks and vaccum leaks).... anyways just my 2 cents..I could go on and on...
