    Standalone M10

    So, this is my plan.
I really love the E21s and also the M10 engines.

    These are my questions:

1.True that the M10s in that period have stronger engine blocks that the ones from the e30s? If so, what is the period in years?

    2. If i want full closed loop fuel injection on the M10 (like the Motronic in my E34 M50 for example) what are my options like a standalone ?
Do i need to get the manifold from the E30s ?
And then just instal the sensors, do the wiring and dyno tunning and that's it?
Will it be as good as a stock Motronic regarding drivability, mpg, adaptability etc?

This will be a project so money wise for me it will worth it.

I want to make it to look like this and to drive it as a DD.

Any imput is of great help.
    Thanks.

Megasquirt is the most common, the second most common option seems to be Vems, but there's lots of others like microtec, electromotive, autec, I think AEM has one. Here's a presentation from 02again.com on how to megasquirt 2002, it'll be similar for an e21.

From what I've read on megasquirt, the reliability seems to be based on how well you assemble the ECU. If you're not comfortable, you can buy assembled units.
