I apologize for taking so long to update. Thanks for all the kind words! I have finally started back working on this car.
Here is what's up on the list next.
Cut and reweld Volvo bellhousing to getrag 420g s6s 6spd transmission.
Finish modifying oil pan.
Build turbo manifold.
I made a quick fixture to hold a spare input shaft centered in the 420g bellhousing to allow me to center it
Here is the Volvo 960 auto bellhousing, I will be cutting Bout 3" off the front of this and welding it to the getrag.
With an arbor extension, this is what I will be using to make a perfectly even cut around both bellhousings
This is my new attempt an the oil pan. The rear will be shortened to clear the subframe and the front will remain original expect for one side which will be extended to compensate for the loss of capacity in the rear of the pan. Baffling will be added to prevent oil pump cavitation.
And today I picked my self up a slightly used Garrett gt3582r ball bearing turbo, it's a bit bigger than what i intended to use but be price is right and I can also choose somthing else later.
