    The $300 91 318i Recovery Project

Amazing what you can find on Craigslist these days.

I picked up this beauty for $300 from a recently graduated UT student who parked it for a year and a half after losing 3rd and 4th gear.

After draining 7 gallons of bad gas from the tank, put 2 gallons of premium and half a bottle of Seafoam. It took a few seconds of cranking but she finally started up and idled just fine.

Then as I let it warm up I found this..

Turns out so far I need one radiator and a good 240 transmission...

So... I went ahead and changed the oil using only the best oil on the market..

And then onto replacing the cosmetically challenged parts on the car..

More pics to come as I progress...

The way gas prices are getting.. I'll probably make this my DD so I can concentrate more on getting my 2.8 stroker swapped into my 325i and save some skrilla.

Nice find. I have been driving the wheels off my little M42 and smiling every time I pass a gas station. Great DD
