Hey guys, I've got an M52 that has been working perfectly fine since I bought it.
Last Thursday I drove it to work and it ran like usual.
I left work Friday morning and it was idling a little rougher than normal when it started but then smoothed out.
Friday night it would start up, idle like total shit, and die within 10 seconds.
I suspected the fuel pump to not be in the best shape so I replaced it, same problem.
I have had the crank position sensor on my to do list anyway, so I replaced that, same problem.
I unplugged the MAF and the car starts right up and idles a little higher than normal but will stay on and stay smooth indefinitely.
I swapped the MAF out for another one and I'm still having the same problem; starts up then immediately takes a huge shit and dies.
I tried to unplug the O2 sensor and still had the same problem.
I've seen a few other threads with this type of issue and it has ranged from vacuum leak to alternator to cam/crank sensor and everywhere in between. I don't want to just keep throwing money at it until it runs....anything else I can test/try before I take the manifold off for the eleventy millionth time?
