My 89 325is head first dive (NEW BUILD PG.13)

Well to start things off, glad to be a part of r3v :D

So i bought this gem from an old redneck lady in Lizardlick NC, feel in love at first site!

Its an 89 325is 5spd, champagne cheryl is her name
and she sat for 7 years outside and has the CLEANEST black leather interior i have ever seen, looks like it came off the lot and the dash isnt even cracked (:

I spent all the money i had on it... $1500 bucks lol

This was the Miata i droped every dime into and totaled 2 months before the E30, boy do i miss her (mini mouse)

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

Now that is all gone, onto the Dirty 30

I got it with the intensions to drive it as soon as i put a new battery in it, but sadly i was wrong..

It turned over plenty of times but she just wouldnt turn on!

A few days pass after testing different things and trying to trace down the colprate, found some acorns on top of the exhaust manifold gasket :(
as the month passed i ended replacing the coil, plugs, battery, ECU, fuel pump, ect...

    Warlbro 255 ftw
    [IMG][/IMG]

Come to find out my coil is not getting any bit of power and neither am i getting fuel.. compression was terrible across the board!

From there i dove in head first! Being 18 yrs old and being around fast cars all my life i decided to just go nuts (yolo)

The next day i pulled the motor!

I had every intention to make this thing a beast! But so does everyone with an e30 (:

At this point i was working 50 hours a weak at sears auto and being 18 living with mom i had no bils except my phone i was dropping 1200 bucks every 2 weeks on this thing!!!! Crazy i know....

Sent the Head and Block to HRT Machine shop in durham NC to be honed, hot tanked, bored, decked, and have the head rebuilt completely and decked and i ported it myself

this is the motor when i first bought the car
    Nice and grimy

The block was bored to 84.50, hot tanked, honed, decked, and the head was completely rebuilt and sealed and decked and ported by me!

Also got the Crank and Cam micropolished

While the work was getting done to the block i though id get a little fancy with the car (:

Grip Royal Wood steering wheel and a hydro diped wood grain Valve cover!

And i had some new parts on the way as well hehe
    CX Racing forged H-Beam rods
MaxSil Teflon Coated pistons - was told they were forged before i ordered...
Condor Speed shop solid motor mounts
    All new Belts
And a few miscellaneous parts like gas cap and nuts and bolts..
    Im replacing EVERYTHING!

I replaced every hose and gas line
these are just a few random little ones form Orielly

im like 3 months deep and every day feels like christmas getting new parts in the mail :D

A local sold me some long tube headers for 100 bucks and i ordered an Ebay DTM Muffler (had one on my E46 sounded really nice)

    Looks pretty :D

So after having the engine not complete but on the right route knowing exactly what i need i move on to the brakes, suspension and wheels....

The brakes were shot so i took all the brakes off and threw them into the trash and cut all the brakes and replaced them with steel braded lines lol
    (no pics)

After that i pulled my suspension apart and let the pistons in the shocks go all the way down and blow... so replaced them with some kyb for the mean time

The funniest thing is i got some Lowering springs for the back of 1988 integra and threw them up front and i took lowering springs for the front a DelSol and put them in the rear and surprisingly my ride height looks nice LMFAO

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

AND YES THOSE ARE GOTTI J55 3 PIECE IN 4X100!
I traded them to someone for a set of diamond racing steelies lol

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

i restored them myself waiting for parts to come in and what not...

Mockup for a tubular manifold lol

    [IMG][/IMG]

And well everyone..... thats where this comes to a stop, its now June 2013 (got the car 3 months ago)

and my mom moved us out to Newport NC, where i had no job..

Just got hired at the NC Aqaurium Taking photos for Photo FX so if your ever in town stop by :D

    To come:
    clutch n flywheel
    putting motor together
put the car back together.... gonna be fun by myself
    all new gaskets and bearings
and then once its back together i have to go back to step one and figure out why it will not start

Kee in mind every sensor is brand new, every hose, every fuel line, filters, ect...

Well guys stay tuned this thing is going to be a beast!!!!!!! :D

dosen't really matter that much for some reason bmw vinyl is a lot more durable then their leather
