    4.10 Diff Question , Please Help .

    Hello Mates .
See , My Car Has A Small Case 4.10 Diff .
But I've Noticed That When the Car Was Lifted on a Jack .

When I Turn One Wheel Clockwise The Other One Also Turns Clock Wise .
The Turn To The Same Direction .
But I Asked My Friend To Hold One Wheel Very Tight , And I Turned The other One , and It Moved , I was Just Making sure it's not welded . And It's Not .
But Is It An LSD Diff .
My Friend Had to Hold The Left Wheel Really Tight , and i Had To Use Power With My Both Hands To Move The Other Wheel , And It Moved But Really needed alot of Power To Move .without Moving the other one which my friend was holding .

Again , Is My Diff An LSD Diff ?

Sounds like it. Clean the dirt off and see if there is an "S" stamp on the bottom or check the tag and see if it has an "S" before the ratio

sounds like what happened to the stock LSD in my e36M sedan after 6 track days; the internal clutch discs and steel plates were worn out and didn't lock up hard anymore so I could break it free with my hands.

the small case units wear out much quicker than medium.
