New Rims!

Sup everyone!

So, this weekend I copped some new rims. BBS RN001 16x7.5's. (Pic soming soon. My worked blocked me from getting onto my photobucket so it'll have to wait until I get home).
Anyways, I'm happy about these rims as they look way better than my stock 14's I have on my E28 right now.

I plan on running 205/55/16 or 225/50/16 tires. Does anyone have any recommendations? or experience running these size tires and would they require Hubcentric wheelspacers? If so, what size and do I need to buy for front and back?

Thanks for helping!!!

What is the offset of the wheels? That will help determine what tire width works best, but 205 works with 7.5" width. 225 work best with a width of 8".
What size is the hub bore? This determines if you need hubcentric rings. For example, E39 wheels have a hub diameter of 74mm, which is too large for the E28’s 72.5mm.

So, the hub bore size is 72.56 the rims are 16x7.5 et38.
Here is a picture of what they look like!!!
I love how they look compared to the stock 14's that come with the car.

Sorry if the image appears is soo huge!

You might need spacers up to an inch thick x 4, and possibly longer lug bolts x 20, due to that offset. Hope they were reasonably priced!
Check out Shawn's wheel/tire fitment tutorial. Good luck!

I think I got them for a pretty good price. $150 and it came with a cool Corona picture! What do you think about 205/55/16 size tires, 20mm wheel spacers and extended lugs? Wheel spacers are so damn expesive! Any good web-sites you know of that are reasonably priced??

Thanks for all the info and the link helped alot!

I wouldn't run wheels that needed 20mm spacers.

Please do explain?

I'm just really worried about the the tires rubbing against the strut and I want to get as much insight as possible before i decide to buy. 20mm does sound pretty outrageous though!

I've read around and people have ran 205/55/16's with 16x7.5/16x7 rims and have gotten away with no rubbing but they never specify their offset???

Sorry to appear so brainless when it comes to fitting rims on a car, although I am. Honestly, this is the first set of rims that I've bought for my e28 and I know it won't be my last!

You're right. You'll need wheels meant for your car (proper offset, as well as width & diameter) vs. trying to fit 3-series wheels (or whatever these are) on it. The expense of spacers & longer bolts is then not a factor, and neither is the potential wobble/imbalance from the spacers.
Not meaning to sound harsh - just want you to be safe and not spend hard-earned $$ unnecessarily.
