    a/c idle up circuit

Run jumper from pin 40 on ecu connector to input of 5V regulator on proto section of whodwhos ms, run output of regulator to pin 18 on microsquirt header. Anyone have any input whether this is good or bad thinking?

Something like a 7805 in a TO92 package with pin 40 feeding the input instead of a generic 2A2222A based going high input circuit? Should work just fine. However, you must make sure that the 5v regulator is under enough load to be in regulation, the minimum current depends on the part.

Lol yup thats what i was thinking, i didnt understand why people were going through making their own circuit when a 5v regulator is readily available, reliable and only takes up 3 pins on the proto

Good to know. I was concerned that maybe the logic-level input to the MS would not draw enough current to keep in regulation but I guess that was unfounded.
