    Figuring out exhaust set up

I have a 95 M42, I know this is for E30 M42 but I believe these set ups are mostly the same.

The 95 M42 exhaust starts with the 4-2 header that bolts to a 2-1 downpipe and then it goes to the cat.

When I bought this engine for my swap, the dude cut the exhaust out BEFORE the O2 sensor, so now I have to source the downpipe.

Can a shop do this with relative ease, or should I source a whole stock downpipe or find aftermarket downpipe to cat? I feel like BMW did it right with the exhaust set up and stock would be OK, but might I get something more out of a custom job or after market?

For instance, Magnaflow has a downpipe to cat.

Any of your three options would work. The stock system, especially the headers, are indeed quite good on these cars. Not much to gain from changing that section. An exhaust shop should easily be able to make something work, but if it's not a particularly great shop it may be a bit cobbled together. That Magnaflow looks really nice, but it's probably the most expensive option of the three.
