Lets make a M50 powered Volvo 240
According to this, 1980-81 was kinda a fucky year for them and how they named their cars compared to engines
They also list it as an engine in parts Catalogs. The key it it's a GL not a GLE. That year the GL apparently broke their naming code and put in the b21 in itLast edited by FireFight; 03-23-2017, 11:16 PM.

Thanks!
Alright so I took a trip to the junk yard today..
I got a front carpet section
Glove box
Dash trip
Sunroof handle
Door locks
Door speaker grill
And random little bits
Unfortunately, my car must be a early 80 because the glove box, dash trim, and speaker grill I got from a 81, doesn't fit. So those where a waste.
When I started to vacume the carpet I found
A nice rip in it that I didn't see at the yard
Which sucks because that means I wasted a yard trip. But I decided I wasn't gonna fail again.
I took a needle and thread and sewed the break as best I can
Unless you know, you wouldn't be able to tell.
Vacuumed up, still need to shampoo though
Next I got the sunroof handle on
Last for this little update, the car being a "higher end"(?) model 240, it had chrome door lock knobs, they were all worn out and ugly
And broken hahah
All new!
I'm in the middle of pressure washing it and cleaning the outside, more updates soon

Well I think I did a pretty good job at making my neighbors think I'm a tweaker, I was up til 10pm washing it in the dark, I couldn't even see the results until this morning.
Definitely a lot better, now that it has been cleaned I can put it in the garage and start cutting and buffing it.
I was also able to find a guy on eBay with a couple the parts I need for the interior that I got the incorrect year at the junk yard. So I'll be getting those shipped from New York.
I also ordered a little something for it that I'm pretty excited for that will be here tomorrow.
More to come on that

Got these in the mail today, USA made 5x108(Volvo) to 5x120. Now I'm on the hunt for a set of 16" style 5s. I found a killer deal on a set of 17" style 5s, but I think they would look to big on the car
Here is what I'm gonna be running for the clutch, this is a clutch master off a 90s Land Rover., I need to modify the pedal from a pull style for a cable to a push style hydraulic.
This will then got to a hard line, to a soft line off a e30 to a BMW slave cylinder.
Volvos have the holes on the pedal cluster for the master to bolt up so it shouldn't be to hard
Time will tell. I'm also on the hunt for a m50b25TU
More to come!

Small update, I spent the weekend at the local junk yards trying to get an engine, with no luck.
I was able to get small stuff that it needed though
New ash tray
New glove box
Well I think I am gonna buy a donor car for the swap. I placed a bid on this
I would just be using the flywheel, starter, transmission, and shift linkage. The rest will be parted out. I find out tomorrow.
On another note I picked these up
16x8 style 5s. The only down side is I found that the adapters I got where the incorrect hub size, so they don't fit. They are going off to the machine shop this week to take 2mm out.
Side note, this weekend I worked on another auction buy
93 525i, I bought it to part, thinking it was at the auction for something like the transmission was out.
Nope the rear wheel bearing was toast.
Tossed a new one in and drove it all day. Drives super nice, a family member is going to buy it for a first car.
another one saved
Here is my driveway these days. My BMWs really need baths.Last edited by FireFight; 04-04-2017, 09:13 AM.
