    engine shut off on hot

Hi guys, im finishing my m52b28 swap on an early e30.
the cars was running "fine" (little rev hang), but since a 3 weeks, the cars shut down 5-15 minutes after start it.
to be exact, the fuel pump, begin to slowly make more noise than usual, then at WOT the car begin to lose power..if i continue at WOT the car shut off, but if i leave the foot from the pedal the car dont make shut off...
if i a press the acelerator again i can drive a few meters and then the same..

i have change the fuel pump for another brand new, the fuel pressure regulator and the crank position sensor for a brand new..

anyone had suffer the same problem?? thanks guys!

    update:
    parts changed:
    -fuel pump
    -fuel pressure regularor
    -cam sensor
    -crank sensor

Mr MPower - have you tried to run the car without the gas cap in place to see if the problem repeats?

If the fuel tank is not venting properly the pump will not be able to overcome the eventual build up of vacuum and the flow will stop. The fact that the pump gets louder before the car dies leads me to think this could be the problem.

In the US our cars have a charcoal canister to capture fuel tank vapors and burn them off in the engine via a series of hard lines from the rear of the car to the front that eventually change to rubber lines. I don't know if your car would have this equipment or if there is another method of venting the tank directly to atmosphere. Either way, if the problem stops with the gas cap removed you will need to track down the tank vent too see how/why it is blocked.

Other than that I would check the fuel pump relay for power when the car dies and check the in-tank pump screen for blockage (rust, etc.)

    Good luck with your efforts.

wow, nice advice. the e36 comes with a fuel tank evap valve, but in the swap i (like everyone) have delete it, i hope isn't the problem, but im going to check all that things.

BTW a friend have used inpa in my car and i have error code 65 camshaft position sensor..so i need to check one more think then!! thanks MJ!

i don't had time yet to run without the gas cap, but with the Cam sensor, the car runs the same.
