ok so i think i want to run a turbo. i do not know much about turbos. i've driven them, and i've watched mighty car mods. that's the extent of my knowledge on FI. so please excuse my ignorance.

does the kit you're selling come with everything needed to get about 350hp to the wheels? that's my goal.
does your kit come with a tune? i saw you mention you have something that will get the car running but is that the full tune? i live like 20 min away from precision turbo apparently, so i could probably get a tune there. but i have no idea.

basically, what do i need on top of what you're selling, to get around 350hp. and is that power doable on stock internals?

also, is there anything i should refresh on a 150k mile (clean) engine to run this kit?

    thanks.

Bolt-on M20 turbo Kit by Kamotors

Kameron how do you think this set up would do with oem head bolts and a goetze head gasket? My 2.7 has like 6k miles on the fresh rebuild haha. Would I have to run low boost?

Maybe like 240 hp. Upgrade your head bolts at least.

I am looking for a price on a complete kit for a 1987 325e. Also want to know if you are able to do the follow up remote tuneing after the install and the base tune that you include to get it running? And if so is there additional cost for this. I did pm you earlier but have not recived a response. Thanks

I have bought the kit for my 1989 325ix WITHOUT the manifold. The manifold from the kit does NOT fit due to the more upright angle of the strut towers. I've purchased a 325ix turbo manifold from CX Racing and had the surfaces machined flat by a shop to fit better. FYI, it was pretty awful and on the turbo side they had to get rid of 1/4" of material to make it actually flat. In addition to that the holes don't line up so I still need to do some work to make it actually fit to the head.

However, from preliminary rough dry fitting it appears that it should work. I've also bought the CX Racing 3" turbo back exhaust and with some modification to the pipe that comes off the turbo the exhaust should also work. It appears that the short pipe coming off the turbo from this kit will need to be extended and the v-band clamp from the exhaust will need to be welded on so that the pipe can reach the CX Racing exhaust and bolt on correctly.

I'm also planning on going with an E85 flex fuel sensor, semi sequential batch fuel injection, dual knock sensors, a serial to USB adaptor built into the ECU box and it has been setup for waster spark. I spoke with DIYPNP and it seems that with some modification to the circuits and this is totally possible and should work out great. These aren't easy mods but the ability to add E85 magic juice and monitor the motor will make it more than worth it's while.

Have some engine porn. Here's the block before it got the o-rings put in and wired.

would this work with an m50 swap?

                      This an m20 kit

Parts of it will work, but yeah dude. Wrong motor.
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

I would love to buy but i feel like my m20 just wont be reliable enough. It has around 210k miles and the tranny and clutch arent the greatest. If i replaced head gasket and ARP head studs do you think it will be ok? I wouldnt have a lot of money left over in case something important breaks because of all the extra power.

Kam. Making serious plans to do a swap. Id like to potentially go m30. How long before a kit is ready for that?

I suggest replacing/refreshing your entire e30 before jumping into a turbo build. Spend that money where its needed, instead of having a turbo e30 thats unreliable and about to fall apart.

Leak down test will tell you how healthy your motor is or atleast a compression test. I had low compression in two cylinders. Had the head resurfaced and valve job now turbo is already mounted. I really didnt have to spend too much money for the machine work its if you need to replace parts is when it gets expensive. Do it right first time. Check out health of motor. Leak down test. Everything checks out. New head gasket and arps you'll be good

So there will be a $200 price increase starting March 1. I just cant keep going at this low of a price.

that means internal kits $3200 and external $4200.
