    Rear shock lower bolt discontinued?

Has anyone else had this problem? Tried to order a new rear shock lower bolt from the dealer and they said its unavailable -- with no replacement part listed!

    The e30 bolt p/n 07 11 9 931 021
    Part 3 on

We looked up the e36 bolt, which is still offered. It is the same bolt but 5mm shorter.

    P/n 07 11 9 900 402 number 2:

Anyone try this or any advice if it'll work? I think it should be fine but i don't want it falling out obviously. It's weird they usually have another pn listed for discontinued parts on the diagrams

In a pinch one day I used a dual mass flywheel bolt. Same grade hardness but threaded more. Got me home and replaced with proper one.

It's just a Grade 10.9 metric bolt. Simply go measure the LxW and thread length and go to the bolt shop.
For the sake of a few dollars I'd certainly do that over a junkyard bolt. JMO

                  Seriously. It's a bolt, not a part.
