Oddball stuff is hard to find sometimes but any good upholstery supply can get whatever you need. They're all over, I found 3 within 30 minutes of me here in Chicago.

Some of the plaid and houndstooth are OEM materials so they can get expensive if you can acquire them. I've gotten some good stuff off of alibaba too.

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

What I meant was please elaborate on the material you bought.

            What was it?
            How was the quality?
What vendor on Alibaba did you get it from?

But thanks for introducing me to this witchery called google.

I've gotten many things from different vendors on alibaba. Anything from electronics parts to fabric. Just read the reviews and only deal with merchants who have positive feedback. Alibaba charges your card right away but holds the funds in escrow until you verify receipt of your stuff. Quality varies as with all chinese goods, which is why you need to read reviews before purchasing.

              Hope this helps you.

Glad you liked the free Google lesson. :D

Im really considering making a new headliner for my car in something like houndstooth or plaid. Alpine white coupe with all black leather interior. Any suggestions?

Do a dark color for sure. I would do houndstooth because I love the stuff but it's difficult to find auto grade HT in anything besides black/white. I have a black/grey HT that looks amazing but it's not up to the task of being a headliner. :(

My second choice would be a suede/microfiber or maybe even velvet.

This pattern is great. By far my favorite. And the headliner looks really well done and professional. I imagine that was a real pain to get it on there tight and installed perfect like that.

I tried my hand at some plaid interior while waiting for my seats to arrive.
