DIY: Gradual Interior Swap From Tan To Grey

Haven't really found anything on this so I thought I would start one.
Swapping interior pieces step by step, piece by piece.

Not a big fan of leather or tan interior. Unfortunately, I have both.:(

I'm gonna be swapping it in slowly so I'm going to be updating this every week.

Started off with the simple Kick Panels in the front:

Remove the carpet, it'll make it easier-

Starting with the passenger side, remove the one screw holding it in-

Holding it from the bottom, pull it towards the front of the car and downwards-

    Picture of the replacement piece-

Put it in the opposite of how you pulled the original piece out-

    Replace the single screw-

Moving on to the driver side-

First things first, Remove the carpet-

Start removing the three twist screws holding in the knee bolster-

Pull the bolster towards you to get it free from the back pinch clips-

Some of you who still have the annoying door chime (which I do) will have to unplug the two connectors then it should pull right out-

Now you should have access to all the screws holding in the panel. Start by removing the center screw-

Now you need an 8mm socket to remove the two screws holding in the hood latch-

Now same with the passenger side panel, hold it from the bottom and pull it down and back-

Put in the replacement piece by doing the reverse off the removal-

    Screw in the hood latch-

    Screw in the center screw-

Now replace the knee bolster by first making sure that the back is pushed into the two pinch clips-

Now you can choose to reconnect the door chime, or leave it disconnected according to your personal preference (I reconnected it)-

Replace the three screw clips and you're done!

Considering this is my first write up, let me know what you guys think.

Next week I'll be doing the door cards.:)

Ha this is very gradual. Why grey? Black would be sooo much better. Are you planning on doing the carpet too cause it'll look horrible with the current carpet and the rest grey

Good luck with the swap.Just my opinion specially with your wood steering wheel compliments your current interior ...are you going to replace your steering wheel to black? If you are getting rid of your steering wheel let me know.

Moving thread to the Interior subforum for the time being. We can move it back to DIY/FAQ when it is complete.
