Vinyl wrapping is one of those things you shouldn't rush. So I don't recommend it to a newbie who can't devote some serious blocks of time to just relax and get in to it. IF you can afford the time, the reward is good results like the OP!

Well said. If you want to do this you have to be willing to go slow, be patient, and learn along the way. I learned lots of little tricks by the end so next time it'll be much quicker.

Your E30 looks pretty clean for a first-time wrap. Nice Job! Any idea how many feet of material you used? I am about to place an order through Vvivid Vinyl, and wasn't exactly sure how much I would need for an E30. I was thinking 45' x 5'.

I think that's enough. However, I don't recommend that vinyl. From what I've read and seen, it's harder to work with than other brands.

I used ORACAL 970. It's fairly forgiving and easy to work with for a beginner. The channels work fairly well on it for getting all the air out, and it's thick enough that if are a little too aggressive with the heat, you can let it cool and it won't discolor.

Since this had already been bumped.

Mcdougal, how has the vinyl been holding up? Have you had to redo any parts?

Currently without an e30. Will probably die soon.
