Here's the story, I had an e39 540i6 that was tastefully modified and was hit last spring. After the incident I drove up to NY and bought this m off a guy who had started this and installed the motor/trans/clutch/diff under the supervision of the guys at zionesville (dwight to be specific). Motor and electrical were very well done; when I got the car I drove it home and took it from there. He had a 2.93lsd on it with a little surface corrosion but nothing detrimental (not to worry, car has no rust, underbody was sprayed), waiting to swap to 3.25. The interior is immaculate (i sold the backseat as I am on the verge of shedding some weight, is being redone in stock carpet so it appears to merely be a rear “shelf”); no audio at this point, I have original headunit but not installed, came with the car. I also have the original spare. The car has a clean title but was in an accident, the original owner was a dedicated enthusiast/bmwcca member (hence the condition), he slid into a small tree, the damage was straight up the center of the drivers door, aside from the fact that under intense scrutiny you can tell something happened its neither a concern nor a hindrance to the cars structural integrity/performance. If you are going to do things properly from the ground up though i suppose you can have the body work redone as it was not something I had a hand in. I have a substantial amount of time and practically all my earnings invested in this vehicle. I can get pictures after it gets back from alignment tomorrow if you really are interested. THE ONLY REASON I am considering selling is the fact I am moving to boston and have no place/need for the car. It is an excellent performer and if for some odd reason a motivated buyer does not present themselves I will be far from disappointed. I think the only way I could consider letting it go would be in the $13K range due to the fact its a really clean swap (obd can hook up to dealer diagnostics and register without problems!), no drips/leaks, excellent interior and an e30 m with less than 90K on it. Basically you get a conservative/stock looking m3 putting down some unexpected serious power; what else can one ask for from a classic and a scorching sleeper. I have no dyno results but for what its good for take the stock spec of 193, throw in the 25hp from obdI, 19 from chip gains, gains from AC/Fan belt delete (20?), Exhaust/Intake (15+/-) and youve got a reallistic & substantial amount of power to a light car. (the FI plans really make it ridiculous). Additionally My brother is in need of a car so if anyone has a cosmos black e36, or arctic silver modified/forced induction 325 or tastefully modified m3 I may be able to work out a trade on his behalf; also relative interest in older 911’s (77-85), unique 2002’s, or any interesting automobiles on that note as he and I share similar taste and at worst he can say hes not interested. I’ll get some pics up as soon as the DSI’s make it here/on the car (weekend I’m assuming). Let me know if that’s of interest to anyone, if need be I can ship, deliver, etc; car located in Lynchburg, VA. The guys on here who know me saw the car in its early stages, after 4 months of attention its finally hittin the road but unfortunately so am I, hence the consideration of sale. Thanks again,
-Hunter
