    FS: 1991 BMW E34 M5 Alpine White

    1991 BMW M5
    Alpine White / Gray
    S38 3.6L / 5 Speed
    245,000 miles
    VIN: WBSHD9311MBK05376
    Clean California title

This M5 is a driver's car. It's clean, presentable, and well maintained but as the odometer reading shows, it's been driven and enjoyed. This car is completely stock and original minus the addition of the European spec M-Technic steering wheel and a back lit OEM ///M shift knob.

    Recent maintenance:
-All cooling hoses -Radiator -Fan clutch & blade -OEM BMW coolant
-Valve adjustment -Valve cover gaskets -Spark plugs -Distributor cap
-Ignition rotor -Crank position sensor -Coolant temperature senders
-Intake manifold gaskets -Throttle body o-rings -All breather hoses
-Brake booster check valve -Brake booster hose
-Front brake pads & rotors -Rear brake pads & rotors
-Accessory drive belts -Hood & trunk struts -Oil cooler seals
-Oil filter housing gasket -Engine air filter -Fuel filter
-Rubber fuel lines -BMW roundel emblems -OEM rear M5 badge
-OEM wheel emblems -Transmission fluid -Differential fluid
    -Engine oil change -Battery

The car runs and drives very well. The S38 engine pulls to redline happily. The transmission occasionally grinds when shifting in to 4th gear. Cosmetically the car is not perfect but it's very presentable. The car has rock chips in the front nose panel and a couple minor dings. The interior is in overall clean condition but the driver's seat does show wear due to its age.

    SOLD.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions about the car!

Such a nice example of my favorite version of the M5. The fact that its not "collector quality" would encourage me to drive it vs. keeping it tucked away in a garage most of the time.

As much respect I have for Matt and his crew, have this checked out by an old crusty BMW master tech who has experience with these cars. Also stash another $13k in reserves. These are stout reliable cars but when things break and they do at this mileage, it's not cheap.

All that being said the car I miss most is my e34 m5. Sniff.

Pasha, thanks for the reply. You're sorta dumping on my sale here though. If I thought there was even a hint of mechanical issue with this car I'd either fix it or disclose it. It runs very well and as you can see by the list above it has been gone through. :) The car has also had a ton of suspension maintenance done by the previous owner. Unfortunately I don't know the specifics of what's been done so I left this out of the ad. It drives very well though.

Nice to see an old M5 that was well enjoyed! Does the SLS system still work or has it been converted? My 91 M5 last digits are two numbers from this car! Very Cool! Someone is going to get a well cared for car! GLWS Matt

                    Cheers,

Thanks Ben. I do know the previous owner did a lot of suspension work but unfortunately I don't have the details of what's been done. It drives nicely though!

                              Nice car and free bump.

I recently sold my 1991 M5 with 251K miles and let me tell you, my car could still pull like an absolute monster. A high mileage M5 is nothing to be scared about if its had its oil changes and valve adjustments all in order (incase any prospective buyers are nervous).
