    heater box woes

After pulling out the heater box, looks like a previous blower motor fan exploded on the passenger side or something. OEM replacement covers are available but also on national back order, and I don't feel like waiting another 3 weeks before putting things back together.

Anybody got a recommendation for how to fix the plastic cover? Duct tape? I was going to try to glue a patch on, and maybe "weld" the edges a little bit.

Air pump block off was perfectly good, but wanted something that looked a little nicer:

Love what you're doing with this thing. Like most have said, post up some shots of the whole car!

Have a used heater box and covers coming from a part out. Cool.

Possible source of the DS interior leak... when the metal heater pipes were cut for clearance, the bead was not restored. These pipes fit *very* loosely in the rubber hoses.

These were secured with hose clamps, so not sure if they could've sprayed coolant into the interior, but definitely possible.

Cuts evened out and beads restored with ghetto beading tool. Rubber hoses fit much tighter.

Good on you to actually remove the heater box.

Too many hacks nowadays that just half-ass stuff to imitate the people who work hard. Its refreshing to see someone who puts in the due-diligence and care into their project.

                Keep it up

this is great. ironic too cause i just did a bunch of reading on the old threads just last week without even seeing this thread beforehand. It's great to see a great car in great hands. So much motivation to one day put an S54 in the ix i currently own.

Thanks for including us on your journey!
