How tight should i make my polyurethane mounts?

This is a stupid question..... but i ordered IE polyurethane transmission mounts. I dont want to over tighten them. I dont want to mushroom the ends of the mounts and end up wearing them out too quickly.

Right now i just have them tight. Am i stupid and over thinking this?

if you are worried about it coming loose, you could always use some loctite.

This would work, just be ready to break out the air tools when you go to remove them. :D

if you over tighten them then the stud will break! its not going to squish the mount....

The Bently manual tells you exactly how to install transmission mounts. I don't have mine with me, but maybe one of the other guys here can post the information for you.

I remember that you're not supposed to pre-load the transmission, but other than that the details escape me. If the mounts are mushrooming quite a bit, however, you've definitely made them too tight.
