      Thanks!

In the same regard is there a direct paypal to send $ directly in to avoid the gofundme fees? At this rate it'd be several hundred extra being put in.

I looked at it like this: This is not one of those,"oh crap I screwed up my car, or ran from the cops and slammed in to a curb" type deals needing a bail out. It's one of those life changing, "what tha hell do we do now?" type moments that maybe only happens to a single person in your circle of friends.

                    An honest, real Emergency.

That's why I donated what I did. I would hope this kind of thing doesn't ever happen to anyone else in my lifetime, and I would even be willing to donate more if necessary, but I'll wait to see what his plans are for the next place. Hell, my next donation may just be me showing up with a toolbelt and a hammer.

Curious the brand - I thought there had been some recent recalls about this on a few. I'm sure the Insurance company will look in to it, but might not be bad to see if there are other similar reports for the model..

James, you will want to get in contact with a lawyer about the laptop battery exploding. It's quite common for aftermarket brands who skimp on safety circuitry to end up in flames. I work with batteries and one time had a lawyer call us up asking to buy a shit ton of batteries the same brand, made the same year etc as one of his clients, whose battery blew up while she was using it, leaving 3rd degree burns on her lap and hands. Shit is scary

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheels
