    FS: 1985 318i

I will entertain all offers! I NEED TO GET RID OF THIS CAR.

    As the title states, I am selling a 1985 BMW 318i. She's a 4 door.

    The good:
Has an appropriate amount of rust for it's age and location. Has some on the rails/fenders behind the front wheel wells. One of the front swaybar brackets rusted off, so that's not on the car. I replaced the battery cables and also ground cables with new ones made by Gregs///M, a R3V forum member.
    4x bottlecaps
    Used Bilstein Sport shocks
    Used H&R Sport springs
    Used 51mm struts from a 325i
    Used rotors from a 325i
    Used calipers from a 325i
Used rear trailing arms from a late model 318i complete with knuckles to upgrade to disc brakes in the rear (not installed)
    New oil pressure sensor
    New fuel pump relay
    New primary fuel pump
Used transfer pump from a low mileage e30
    New idle stabilization relay
New Aluminum power steering delete block
New UHMW solid motor and transmission mounts
    New water pump and gasket
New exhaust studs and copper lock nuts
    New coolant refresh kit
    New 71 degree thermostat
    New ball joints
    New FCABs
    New alternator belt
    New Bosch WR-9-DS spark plugs
    New shifter boot (not installed)
    New stock clutch kit
    New selector rod seal
New pilot bearing and felt ring
    New clutch slave cylinder
New spring and pivot pin for throw-out bearing release lever
    New exhaust gaskets
    New flywheel bolts
    New rear main seal/flywheel seal
    New fan clutch
New Z3 1.9 short shifter conversion

    The bad
I bought the car with a blown engine. I swapped in an '84 M10. I got the car running recently and then she just died. I've fiddled with the timing but it doesn't seem to change anything. I'm getting spark and both fuel pumps are operating. All injectors are firing, but the car will not start or run unless you're using starter fluid. Once the starter fluid is burned up then the car dies. I can't find the shift knob, so I have an S3 magazine shift knob taped to the shifter at the moment...The car has been sitting for too long, and I've had to tow it from house to house. My loss is your gain. Feel free to make reasonable offers.

All the stuff in the final pictures will come with the car as well. Including but not limited to:
    4x IACVs
    2x DMEs
4x BF Goodrich 185/60r14 tires, fairly worn
    grills
    wiring harness
    miscellaneous panels
    AC and PS stuff
a bunch of old hardware bagged and tagged from where they came
a bunch of new miscellaneous parts from Pelican
    a throttle body
    2x MAFs
    an intake box
    an intake manifold
    an old valve cover
325 calipers in need of a rebuild

Damn. I'd buy this if I had a little more money. I'll share this thread with my friend. He's been looking for another one.

Thanks man. You can always make an offer. I won't be offended.

Well, maybe I will. But at least it would be an offer.

I have been watching this car. It has been on sale for a while now. Would be cool to snag but wife would kill me. I'd get it running and donate to a family in need.

If no one buys it I might have a friend tinker with it. It's just taking up space and I have to many other things I'd like to do.

To those who might be looking for M10 parts, I have a spare '85 M10 lying around if anyone wanted to fix up the motor or swap in another one, I'm probably ~15 minutes from the seller.

For both of you guys, Tajj and gettinscurvy.

did you keep the blown original motor? what blew?

I wonder how bad shipping would be for all three engines??

I need M10 engines and the matching 5 speed trans for my race car you can see in the sig pic.
