    My Garage Build

My new garage was started today. The dimensions are 24' x 36' x 10' (high)

It will have a single 16 x 8' door and a thicker area of the slab in the back to allow for a lift down the road.

The excavator was here today and tore into the ground. The builder should be here tomorrow to set the poles. I am really hoping they have the most of it up the end of the week.

I was off today (presidents day) so I was able to take pictures as they worked. It is going to be hard making it through each day to see the progress. Check this thread for daily updates.

Nice progress....any reason you didn't go pre-fab steel structure? Also about how $$ is the project running you?

Anybody have a dual purpose style garage? Apartment/garage? Want to look at some plans for buildings is there a site that publicly list plans? I know about the ultimate garage site?

Do a google search for garage apartment floor plans. There are several sites that have general floor plans on the net to look at.

We live in the city and I am married so a metal building does not look good a) in the city b) agree with the wife. Everything has to match ya know....

It is around $14k for everything

haha yes, I am going to eventually have, heat, power, cable, and internet out there.
I have an old stove I might hook up to powdercoat parts. Probally won't have to even leave the garage ever... haha

NOT a bad idea....who needs the house?...especially if you get the day bed...well you'll need a shower...unless you prefer to go to work feeling/smelling "natural"
