    FS:1993 525i

    Hello all,
My baby is officially for sale. don't really want to sell her, but she's my daily driver and the gas is friggin' killing me. So on to the stats...

    Year: 1993
Color: Black on black- scratched but no dents or rust (amazingly for NE)
    Trans: Auto
    Mileage: just under 164K
Newly repaired/replaced: radiator, water pump, thermostat, O2 sensor Spring '07. head and all components Summer '07, brake pads and rotors Fall '07. There have been various other small components replaced by my mechanic that I could list, but it's a long list. I have receipts for all work done since I took possession of the car in Spring '07.

    NEEDS: Shocks/ Struts
    A/C pump w/ correct belt
    A/C recharged
A few vanity mods-depending on your taste and use of the car.

Honestly- she's not in fabulous shape- but she's not a total lost cause, either. I'll see if I can drag up some photos but I don't have a digital I can hook to my computer at this time, and my computer has kind of shit the bed, so all my old photos are gone, but I'll see if I can save them.

I'm asking $2,000. Use her as a parts car, or finish the last bit of revival that I can't and see what she can really do. I'll be checking this ad for about a week or 2 weeks... after that, I'm probably going to just trade her in- I'm traveling an hour to work now and the gas is hell.Anyone interested or have any more questions, please PM me.

If you drive an hour to work, you should probably list miles on it....

Great to see ya around again, we had missed ya. Good luck with the sale, too bad it's a bit large on the car side for me.

Hate to break it to you, but if you say use it as a parts car and your price is 2,000 thats a little steep. If matted e30 can't sell his gay 'well running' shit for 1500, idk how a parts car for 2000 is gonna go.

Like i also said... "Or you can finish up the few repairs it needs and make it shine..." it's not my place to say what someone has to use it for... it was just a suggestion. It really can be a great car- and probably someone's baby and pride and joy.... it just isn't at that point yet... it needs work to get to that point... but who can say that these cars didn't start out like that for most of us? (I say most with such enthusiasm because I know some one would say "Mine didn't")

Oh and I'm sorry I missed the mileage thing... very tired today. The mileage is just under 164,000. and I'm sure most of you know (but for those of you who may be new and don't) 164K is damn low for 15 years old... it should be about 225K if you go by the average of 15K/yr.

Good luck with sale. Is the gas mileage on an m50 THAT BAD?

Yeah, for me anyway... I don't make glorious money since i'm just starting in my career, and I need something that gets closer to the early-mid 30's where I'm only getting early-mid 20's here.... as far as I know, it's not bad for these cars. It gets what is to be expected of a car of it's age with it's engine, etc. It's just that that number is not very nice to my wallet, where a newer car would be a bit nicer.

wrong, you pain in the ass.....

I want/need 4 doors.... most likely another sedan.... just something newer that gets better mileage and doesn't require so many repairs- trying to get a house in the near future.... I also hope to get back into bimmers sometime in the future, when I've got the money to buy an "extra" car to make my project and leave in the garage while it's repaired/modded. I just can't afford to have on of these cars as my daily right now...
