FS:S5x,M5X To Getrag 260 shift arms

    As stated in this thread:http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=120215

FOR THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THESE: I will be making a fully adjustable selector rod, to make sure the shifter will be perfectly centered to your liking. Let me know if you wish to receive one. IF you havent bought a set and buy one now it will be automatically included.

I am now ready to offer up my services to you swap guys that want to stick to your 260 Getrag transmission. i WILL need cores.
The pictures can be seen in the above thread. I will need a 3-4 day turn around to get the parts back to you. So if you need it immediately you need to state as much

$90.00 for the modified carrier and selector rod. (35$ core charge)
$75.00 for the modified trans mount (20$ core charge)

Or both for $150.00 Shipped.(plus whatever core fees if you dont have your old ones)

The core charges are a bit high because i dont want to have to deal with hunting them down. You ship(on you) me yours and ill send it back.

I am well aware that there is a fellow board member making the trans mounts. So if you want to purchase those from him im all for it!
But i will offer them nonetheless.

    Thanks for your consideration

    Matt

IMPORTANT: It has come to my attention that there are 2 different Getrag 260 selector rod lengths. Not including the metal shifter console which i dont even deal with.

So if a few of you guys could report on the length of the selector rod on your 260, i Will be able to deduce what the pattern is, OR what model and year came with the longer rod. This is obviously one of those things that comes up when you deal with modifications so please bare with me.

For the record the JIG i have made is of the shifter assembly i made out of my convertible which has the SHORTER shifter Rod. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. This is not something im going to sell to you and wish you the best of luck on making it work.
If you have any problems let me know and i WILL have it resolved.

I'm interested in getting both of these for a future swap - therefore I wouldn't be able to give you any cores for quite a while. Do you have some to work with already?

Also, it looks like theres a nut on the underside of the modified tranny mount that might be near impossible to get to. is that the case? forgive me if I'm way off, I haven't messed with my transmission bracket at all.

just curious.. how much would you charge for just the modified aluminum carrier?

my friend is currently in the middle of an m50 swap. we already figured out a mod for the selector rod but dont have aluminum welding capability.. yet.

Wouldnt be a problem. 50.00 for the modified aluminum.

this mod isn't necessary, all you have to do is a little bit of bending, about 10 degrees clockwise. When the shift boot is on you wont even notice the offset. I would definately invest in the tranny brace though, well worth it

I bent the selector rod 10 degrees and it did nothing to help the issue. The cast aluminum carrier is the culprit. I'm pretty positive this metal is way too brittle to bend, even just 10 degrees, I've heard of them snapping pretty easily even with heat.

Matt's modification looks stock under the car and inside the car.

                      Only way to go!!:up::up::up:

I've bent(twisted) mine and others, so i'm sure it's not too brittle. you're twisting it, not bending it and 10 degrees isn't much. The only problem with it is that it's a little offset, most people live with it and not a big deal with the boot over it. just use two 17mm combo wrenches and twist, and you're done.

Plus no one looks under the car and with the boot over it no one will notice;)

Thanks for your opinion, Ive bent a few and all ended up with stress cracks. I love crawling under my car to do a job again...That should have been done RIGHT in the first place.

That's great you don't think it's necessary, but stop shitting in his for sale thread.
