For sale is my old Compaq notebook, it's in relatively good condition after being used for well over a year. Full details are below, I will provide pictures this evening.
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3
Processor: Intel Celeron (speed: 1.60GHz)
RAM: 448 MB
Hard Drive: 27.9 GB (17.8 GB available)
Optical Drive: CD-RW/ DVD-ROM combo drive
Ports: USB (2), parallel (1), serial (1), PS/2 (1), display/video S-video output (1)
Monitor: 14.1" (1024 x 768.)
Software Installed:
- Ad-Aware 2007
- AIM 6.0
- AVG 8.0 (Full version, expires August 2009)
- iTunes
- LimeWire 4.16.6
- Microsoft Office Standard 2007 (Legit version; includes Excel 2007, Outlook 2007, PowerPoint 2007, and Word 2007)
- Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1
- Paint.net v3.22
- Spybot SD
- Windows IE7
Wireless network card: Linksys WPC54G 802.11g (2.4 GHz)
Plusses:
Includes wireless network card with driver already installed.
Numerous copies of software installed, so it's ready to go.
Legitimate/paid version of AVG 8.0.
Legitimate/paid version of Microsoft Office Standard 2007.
In EXCELLENT condition, a few scratches on top cover but the palmrest and the monitor are both in excellent order.
Speakers work very well, no cracking noises either.
Battery still works well with an estimated 1h 15m of life left.
Weighs only 6.7 lbs (3.0 kg)
Stylish and modern looking.
Known Problems:
The number 9 key is detached, you could possibly replace the key itself.
There is one faint blue line (1 pixel of the screen in width) that goes down the screen on the left side, it is very hard to notice.
Sometimes the AC adapter needs to be tapped to get it to work, there is likely a short in it. It costs $30 to source a new one. However, the battery has lasted a few hours for me in the past.
Slow compared to my current Dell notebook, but this is an excellent candidate for software tuning or for running diagnostic software off of.
Asking price: $250 + shipping.
PICTURES WILL BE ADDED THIS EVENING.
Please feel free to contact me via AIM/PM about this, I am somewhat flexible with the price. Bottom line, this is a solid workhorse of a notebook that can be used for automotive-related things or for a college student wanting a spare/backup notebook.
