    Recaro sport seats

    Quick ?

Will the passenger seat fit in the drivers seat? Need to get the seats re leathered. Is the bolt pattern the same?
    Thanks

While it will bolt in place, all the controls will be on the wrong side along with the seat belt buckle.

Oh, and e30 sport seats weren't made by Recaro.

Sorry to hijack this thread....but does anybody have a write up or a website to converting a Evo Recaro to merge with E30 seats rails mounted on Wedge brackets? Or do I have to start a new thread? :mrgreen:Thanks.

They say on the internets that the sport seats were designed by Recaro, but produced by another company. And real "e30 Recaros" are sexy.

They actually weren't, actually. They were designed by Recaro, and built by BMW.

If you want to keep arguing it, I'll dig out the issue of Performance BMW from a few years ago, in which they answered and printed an email I personally wrote them asking once and for all if they were made by Recaro. They in fact WERE NOT.

I am not arguing with you, apparently I was misinformed. You don't have to be so forceful about it...

                  HA.

And I think he was forceful because this topic comes up a LOT and those "in the know" know what's going on.

your best bet is to swap the leather from one seat to the other... get your self some hog rings and hog ring pliers....

you may be able to just swap the top sections...

Exactly. It's just one of those constant topics of E30 misinformation. And it's not helped by the fact that every Tom, Dick and Harry that posts a set of sport seats on Craigslist and eBay lists them as Recaros.

Does anyone have pics of Recaros vs Sport Seats? Since you all seem to be experts it'd be nice to put a picture to this.

these are real e30 Recaro seats. These were designed and built by Recaro for BMW as an option above the sport option (not available in the US). They are also the e30 Alpina seat.

these are e30 sport seats that where designed but NOT made by Recaro
