I love Falken Azenis (Vlucan Tire has them the cheapest) in a 195/60/14. Not so awesome in the wet, but the are have good grip.

I would just suggest the Falken ZE-912. Very inexpensive, and a fair tire. You should be able to pull off under $300 shipped and installed.

I have a set of BFG traction T/A that i use as all season/winter tires

they have close to 55 k on them with about 1/2 tread left

they are grippy in dry conditions

$240 shipped for the Falkens. :) And they're not going to be discontinued anytime soon, so you can replace one if you catch a road hazard.

Anyone have any experience with the Falken Azenis and the ZE-912?

I have the Azenis now, but naturally they did not last very long (rears are gone). With the rain coming soon i might go with the ZE-912 if the dry traction isn't sacrificed too much.

The Falken Ziex are very good tires for their price, would definitely recommend them.

There's a definite sidewall sacrifice and yes there is a traction sacrifice (cornering though, not really straight line). However they'll probably be cheaper, last longer and ride nicer.

I have Traction TAs, put no more then 5000 miles on them and they aren't holding up too well to hard driving, with an eta. My s50 is going to destroy them. I don't do burnouts or anything, but I do corner hard and accelerate from a stop pretty hard at times.. The edges of the tires are wearing down, and on the rears the backs of all of the treading is wearing down with an angle in it from being launched. I will be moving to 912's when these are done (and bigger wheels).

i have a set of bottlecaps i'm not using, so i was thinking of putting the 912s on there to run during the winter. then when summer comes, i could replace my 2 rear Azenis (the fronts still have some life left), to use during the dry season on my basketweaves.

or would you guys suggest something else for the wet?

if someone asked for a good wet tire, my answer definitely would not be falken 912s. the 912s arent horrible in the wet but i would not push the car AT ALL. the loss of grip is instant. however, i dont expect great wet grip from them, nor do i normally push my car on wet roads. i dont know what kind of weather you have to deal with. im in florida. honestly i dont pay much attention to tires wet performance. it matters little to me as long as its not dangerous.

edit- fwiw the 912s in 195/65/14 come in at less than 200 a set mounted and balanced down here. good tire so makes them an easy choice.
