    EDIT:

I think you have me confused i have not broken the bolts the actual water pump has broken into peaces. As you can see below the part the socket set is in has broken off the water pump.

Have you drained the whole coolant system? Make sure that it's drained and "open" because there is a vacuum behind the water pump. It looks like you'll either have to pry it out somehow, or take the front end components out and pull it out with a come-a-long.

PS that's the nastiest M42 I've ever seen haha

Get a chisel and a pipe wrench and knock off the fins on the housing. Break them off until they are just a little bit more than stubble, but enough that a pipe wrench could grab on to.

With the housing trimmed down use a pipe wrench (big as you can find, but not too big that it wont fit) to grab the housing and start pulling and hitting it. It helps to have two people, one on each side to shimmy it (once it starts to shimmy). You should be trying to move it in both directions to break the seal.

Keep in mind that this thing probably will not budge for the first half hour to 45 minutes that you do this, just keep going. I had the same problem and it took me 3 hours of pushing and pulling and hammering to finally get it off, and it only started to really move back and forth in the last 5 minutes of the process. Most of it is a little budge, and then back the way it came.

Good luck, let us know how it works. Let's see why it was so keen on staying in there too. Mine was permatex'd in there, did the same thing yours did (break the housing instead of backing out).

I yeh that was what i have been reading. I do have another solution which should be a lot easier so i might try it and if it works do a diy write up on it.

                Cheers guys

I'd be interested to hear what your alternative is if it works, definitely do a DIY. Good luck.

P.S. is your avatar from the e30parts posters dvd?
