OK, let's get a GB going for RX7 caliper adapters!

    3-24-10 Update

Brackets are available. All kits now come with the necessary brake line fittings to use BMW lines with the Mazda caliper. They will be $85 shipped for brackets and class 10.9 rated mounting hardware anywhere in the US. $105 shipped to anywhere in the world! Rotors are also in stock. $110 shipped in the US.

PM me if you are interested.

After a few failed group buys by other vendors. I've decided to step up and make these brackets. From what I understand there were at least 5 people who paid for the last GB, but there wasn't enough interest to get the amount of orders needed.

All I need is 10 people to commit to this. If we get more that's great, but it really isn't worth it to make less than 10 sets. I'll keep the GB open for 1 month or until we get 10 sets spoken for. After that, I will order the materials and get the built!

Special GB pricing will be as follows:

1 pair of CNC milled 304SS brackets $70

1 pair of 280mm Meyle blank rotors machined to fit on the E30 hub $80 (I was going to use Brembo or ATE discs, but they both have slots in the hat of the rotor which are a known failure point.)

$5 shipping if you just get the brackets, $10 shipping for brackets + rotors.

If you need more info on the RX7 brake conversion please do a forum search as there have already been a few threads discussing the swap.

Please put your name on the list and specify what you want (brackets, or brakets+rotors)

total price shipped so the people interested have a figure in their heads?

like total for just the brackets shipped

then total for both the brackets AND the rotors.

I may be interested as well.

        See op for details

All shipping costs are for US. Worldwide shipping is available but will be a bit more, depending on where you are.

Can we put together some exact info on what year and model cars the calipers and rotors need to be from?

Also, exactly what machine work needs to be done to the rotors?

I'm not only asking for myself but for everyone else as well.

Calipers come from FC RX7 (87-91 I think). Base RX7s had 4lug and smaller brakes, these come from the GTU and Turbo model.

The rotor needs the hubcentric bore opened up to fit E30 hubs.

Here's an image I found on google. Check out the thread by Bejbis in the Brake subforum for more info. He did a pretty good writeup.

What's the benefit of doing this? Better braking compared to the stock e30 brakes?

There's obviously no chance of clearing a stock weave with these, right?

                  I'm guessing 15" minimum...

And Rx7 from 94+ works also.

Hey thanks for getting this going.
