SOLD!!!
Sorry about the title, its a 1981 E12 528i, (not a 1984, I also have a 1984 E28 ), the last year of the first 5-series body style. But of course all you guys know that.
She has 67k miles on the clock, problem is the odo has stopped, so I am not sure how many miles are on this beast, but i do know that the previous owner was a classic car collector and it just sat alot, so I can't imagine there are alot of miles on it.
THE GOOD:
Mechanically, this car is PERFECT. It really sounds and drives like it only has 67k on it. It starts in like 4 turns, runs perfectly smoothly and quitely, with only the faintest of a valve tick.
Windows work, locks work, heat works, blower makes a little noise, but not terrible, didn't try the AC, and all the lights work INCLUDING the fog lights. However, the back passenger window is slow.
Virtually NO rust. The only rust I could find is several tiny surface pricks.
Interior is in decent shape, no major seat tears.
No accidents that I know of, it appears all body panels are original.
There is a power plug hanging out of the front grill, and I haven't discovered what it is, its either a block heater or battery charger.
I also replaced ALL the fuel lines (the rubber not the metal) and the small coolant hoses, because of the time that the car was sitting.
THE BAD:
Now the major (and only) bad point is the peeling clearcoat. Someone re-sprayed the car and did a terrible job with the clear. Maybe he let the base dry completely before spraying the clear on, I don't know, but its coming off everywhere. It seems the base coat is fine though. The paint job itself isn't that terrible either, you would really have to look to discover that it has been re-painted. (original color of course).
and now, the pictures!

Im asking $2300
