I can hardly believe I'm doing this, but it had to happen some day. I'm selling my baby, my pride and joy, my very first e30 (actually my first car period). I love this car, I've babied and pampered it for the last 8 years. It's been incredibly reliable for me, I wouldn't hesitate to take it cross-country and back again; and again. So, here's what it has going for it:
From the factory:
Currently at 206,XXX
2nd owner (Cali/Texas car, zero rust)
1988 325iS (09/87 build date)
Zinno Red with black leather interior and Igee fitted black seat covers
Converted from AT to MT by Autohaus Bayern in Portland, OR in 2005
Fully loaded (9-button, all power, premium sound, etc)
Appearance upgrades:
Plastic bumper swap
iS lip and spoiler (both black)
15" BBS RZ wheels, Nagaro centers with polished lips. Freshly refinished and strait with 90% remaining Dunlop snow tires (I have 2 centercaps currently, they are VW parts and can be bought at any VW dealer)
OEM mudflaps (100% removable)
Euro grills
25% window tint all around
All red tailights
Fully paint-matched engine bay
6000K 35w HID low beams
Custom floor mats with red embroidered '325iS'
CF gauge cluster cover and aluminum gauge rings
Dual trunk lights
Still very shiny Zinno paint with no fading!!
Performance:
H&R/Billy sports
M3 offset CABs
Rebuilt 17lb injectors
Front and rear strut tower braces
Ansa exhaust with Mini Cooper S tips
Z4 3.0 shifter with fully rebuilt linkage
ICE:
New JVC KD-HDR50 headunit (iPod control, front USB and aux inputs, high-pass filter, ORANGE LIGHTS!!)
400w RF amp
12" Infinity sub
Full car Dynamat (trunk, interior, doors, etc)
This system sounds phenomenal!
Maintenance:
All suspension (and I mean EVERYTHING) replaced save for rear subframe bushings
T-belt/WP/tensioner/HG done 1000 miles ago (did the headgasket because it was leaking a bit of oil down the block)
Only used Mobil1 15w50, Redline fluids elsewhere
All standard maintenance at regular intervals (plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fluids, etc)
A/C converted to R134a
Anything you can think of really. I've practically rebuilt this car in the nearly 8 years I've owned it. You name it, I've replaced it. Radiator, brakes, calipers, ECU, OBC, fuel pump, thermostat, full shift linkage, various seals, etc. Even the wipers are brand new Bosch Icons, i installed them just last week.
The bad:
Small (like, hairline) crack on the rear bumper from a parking lot hit-and-run
Front bumper has a paint blemish and doesn't sit perfectly strait (both hard to notice)
Wrinkle on the passengers door below the side strip from a jack-slipping incident (filled in with OEM touchup paint)
Normal rock chips and road rash on the front
Synchros in the transmission whine a bit but work fine
No cruise control due to MT swap
Windshield washers don't work
Driver's door is keyed different from the rest of the car
Honestly this is one of the best-running and nicest e30s I've ever seen, and I'm not saying that just to toot my own horn. If you have any questions, please shoot me a PM and I'll try to get back to you as quickly as possible.
I do have a CarFax report from a few months ago that shows all clean. I can email it to those who are seriously interested.
I will also include brand-spanking new M3 firewall covers (all 3 pieces) for whoever buys it.
Considering the immaculate shape the car is in and the tasteful, well-done upgrades and maintenance, I feel this car is worth a good amount of money. Asking $5000 OBO
