Ok, so I am contemplating selling my iX. I love iX's and love owning the car, and if I do end up selling this one I will own another when the time is right. The thing is its just not sensible for me to have 3 cars right now... I am getting married and wont have the space for them. I also need extra $ for finishing my black e30 and a honeymoon!
Ok onto the car. This is a 1989 Zinnoberrot 4-door automatic 325iX. The car has 116,000 on it and it shows. The car has ZERO RUST anywhere on it. The interior is Very clean and has no cracks in the dash or the seats. The seats are heated and they are hot! The 4-wheel drive system works flawless and it may be the tightest center viscous I have seen yet. I just did ALL the maintenance on this vehicle. I replaced the timing belt, water pump, timing belt tensioner, and all new v-belts. I also just did the service on the transmission which includes a new filter, gasket and all new fluids. When I got the car I replaced the differential fluids as well. I wasnt planning on selling this car, but in all reality I cannot have 3 cars at the moment.
I am the 3rd owner of the car. The previous owner had it for 4 years and kept up on all of the maintenance and I have all the reciepts to show that. This vehicle had new front axles installed in 2008, it also had a full stainless steel exhaust system with a new catalytic converter and oe stainless muffler, with stainless tips. It had new struts and strut bearings installed in the front in 2007, and had an alignment and fan clutch done. Also in 2008 the car had a full tune up, this included: spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, ignition rotor, and both air and fuel filters.
The car has two sets of wheels and tires. The stock 15" Basket weaves have summer tires and all 4 caps. I bought brand new studded snow tires a couple months ago and installed them on bottle caps that are currently on the car.
I am working on the car right now, some of the clips for the sideskirt were broken off when the car hit a snowbank (previous owner) so I am waiting on clips from the dealer. I am also buffing the car out to see how well the paint will clean up. The car has been repainted and needs some tlc in that department. I am looking to get $4500 or somewhere close to that. The Price is O.B.O.
If you want a SOLID iX that just needs a little tlc on the body then this car is a great option. I have done everything on my part to make sure this car is 100% Mechanically sound. You could jump in this car and daily drive it with no issues. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country, and if you happen to be far away we can work out an arrangement where I could possibly drive the car to you if needed.
