08/05/2012 UPDATE!! Now asking $3,500 for the car. Thanks!
06/26/2012 UPDATE!! Now putting the car back up for sale. $4,000 FIRM takes it. Please read this main post as I have updated some details about it
Well, as much as I've been trying to avoid it, I might have to look into selling the e30 for now. It's costing me too much to keep the car with parking garage fees + storage fees for all my wheels/tires/parts and the money is tight. Until I am done with school, I can't really focus on keeping/maintaining such a car.

Injector plug wired in:

Videos of the car in action:
This car needs minor things to sort it out entirely, but it is a joy to drive. I put it together with my experience with drifting for the better half of this past decade to make sure this is a very easy to drift car. The M30 was chosen for its reliability and torque, the suspension was custom picked with GC to support the M30 swap and shocks were custom valved to match the spring rates. Everything with this car was based on lessons learned from my old turbo 325iS, and anyone that decides to pick this car up will be more than happy once everything is sorted out. There's probably quite a bit that I am forgetting to mention here (especially when it comes to maintenance/mods), but I will add more as I remember it.
My asking price is $4000 FIRM

The bad:
Let me say that the best thing to do is to pull the motor out and do a refresh. This motor pulled good compression numbers (all above 140psi), but with a refresh this motor will really have a chance to shine. Here's the list of the bad things starting by the worst:
One HID ballast is blown. Since the car has sat for the past year, the Optima Redtop battery is completely dead (I wouldn't even put much faith in a long trickle charge), and the fuel line below the car (where the fuel filter goes) has gotten brittle. I fired the car up (started right up), but once you build pressure on the line you can see a fuel drip start from the back of the car.
The shop that did the mounts decided to have an epiphany: paint a bumper while my car was on the lift, directly above it. So yeah, the car has massive white overspray on it.... clearly visible from close range. (All pictures above already show this) Since it's a race car, I really didn't care terribly much, but yeah. It's a car meant for business, and it's supposed to look good from 30 feet away. As long as you can cope with this, then you wouldn't feel there is a need to repaint the car.
The car likes to overheat when you push it sideways. I've been doing a cooling overhaul on the car trying to track this down. I removed the thermostat and installed a new water pump. We tested the headgasket by checking for exhaust gas in the cooling, but we found nothing, so it seems that we're basically left at the radiator, which is the original e28 radiator that came out of the car I purchased. The car is currently being run without a thermostat. You can drive the car perfectly normal around town, however once you start pushing it sideways, it tends to warm up rather quickly. As long as you can do cool down laps, you'll be alright, but again... definitely worth looking into.
There is an oil pan gasket leak.
There is a small battery drain (takes about 2 months to drain entirely)
That's basically it really. It needs some TLC from sitting for so long, and it will need to be trailered out of here, but considering all of the parts that are included here ($8k+), you can easily make this into a great car with very little work. It breaks my heart to sell it, but until I have a garage to keep this car, there's no point to keep it. It's been great fun and I'll even be willing to visit the owner anywhere in the Continental US to serve as an instructor for anyone learning (serious offer if anyone is interested)
Tell your friends, tell your mom, tell whoever! :)
You can PM me here or respond to the thread. I know I haven't been very active, so you can text me at my Google Voice number: 914-458-2739. I'll be happy to talk with anyone over the phone and do a through conversation of what's been done to the car.
Thanks,
Erick
