    My "New" M-Tech II 325iS

Ok, so the project is almost finished. Just about every exterior piece is new, including the wiper arms. Unfortunately, I had ordered the wrong sideskirts, and I've had problems getting new ones (ripped off on eBay, again). What do you guys think about the "iS" sideskirts/pods? I think they're ok, but I think that the Mtec2 ones would look a bit less awkward (the "iS" ones make the wheels look too recessed IMO).
The only other things to change a bit is that the hood fitment still isn't quite right (too low at the front right, I asked the guy to try and straighten it but I think he forgot). Also, it looks like the lower valence on the front could use a slight adjustment, but I guess not every car is perfectly straight, and I have a feeling that mine had been in a small front-end collision before I bought it in 2004.
I must say that he did a really awesome job with the painting, it's DuPont's nice paint. He got a really nice finish IMO... and he still hasn't done the final polishing.
Yes, I realise that I need a nice exhaust :-P And I'm thinking a Euro plate filler would also go nicely, as well as a German plate on the front.

What do you guys think? And opinions on the sideskirts?

I don't know what those sideskirts are, but they aren't "IS", and my opinion is that you need to ditch those quick for a set of real mtech II sideskirts and pods.

I know what you mean about the mtech II making wheels look recessed but think they will finish it off alot better

Based on my research, they're off the rare "iS" aerodynamic package, but I believe that it was only available in Europe.

As you can see, the drivers side is missing a piece on there right now... but even based on the passenger side, I just think that they look a bit awkward, like you need 9" wide wheels to make em look right...

Right you are, I read it wrong in the confusion of iS and MtechII, in Aus its same same.

MtechII sides make the wheels look skinny due to how square they are, compared to no sides.

                  Either way, looking good

                      Cheers

By skinny though, I presume you mean that it makes the wheel diameter look small, like they aren't filling up the wheel wells?

It's actually lachssilber... I think that it's so bright out (in FL) that it's making it look lighter than it actually is...

Nothing to do with diameter, more width. Like from 3/4 view they hide the tread section of the tyre, just an optical illusion.

I noticed it most when fitting an MtechII kit to a mates car. It had 16inch Alpinas with 225/45 all round, once the sides went on, the tyres did not look as wide as the skirt hides some of the tyre, that make sense?

God DAMN those skirts are ugly.

Car looks titties in that first shot.

                            Lip it.

Ahha, gotcha. Yea, I generally like the Mtec 2 look though... and it has to be better than what's on there now...

Why thank you... I assure you that the skirts will now be going.
When you say lip it, I presume you mean you'd like to see a lip on there? Cos I originally bought a Rieger one, before going Mtec 2...

I'm sure that with the Mtec2 skirts and a few other minor cosmetic changes, everything will be looking sweet once again...
