Alright, I am throwing up my very rare aluminum Alpina extended fuel tank (10 gallons) from my E30 for sale.
I dont really use it, and I would like to see it go to an enthusiast, or someone who likes to have a few rare parts on hand to brag about.
I am unsure of what its worth, as searches on the internet turned up very few results. If I dont get my asking price I will definitely hold onto it and just reinstall it in my E30, and be able to drive really far without any pit stops. haha
The install is easy, but it will require cutting 4 holes into your E30. This fits into all E30's, apart from M3 and convertibles. This is used in addition to your stock tank, and does not replace it, or allow you to remove it.
Two holes will need to be cut into the rear seat back panel near the ski pass thru hole. Another hole will need to be cut in the top of your passenger fender well to allow access into the trunk from the fill area. And a final hole will need to be drilled in the floor of the trunk to allow the main fill line of the tank access to the tube that runs to the stock tank. It also needs two holes drilled to bolt the tank to the trunk of the car to avoid movement.
Apart from the tank itself, the only other piece needed is the modified fuel tube, which is included, and is a direct replacement of your stock pipe. The install is easy, and I will offer detailed instructions to the buyer if requested.
It cost me around 65 dollars to fill up, but I could drive around almost all month without another refill. Pretty convenient for someone who does a lot of highway driving, or is too lazy to fill up often.
I will ship this to wherever you want it to go, but shipping will not be cheap, as you can already figure out. I am located in the San Diego/Mira Mesa area, and I am available everyday after 5 30 pm.
Please PM me with any inquiries. Again, no lowballers. I would like to get 400 dollars firm for the tank. If you have any questions that I havent already answered, just let me know and I will be happy to assist you.
Onto the pics. The entire tank was sanded down and cleaned thoroughly before the paint was added. There is no rust, the stuff that was on it before was a glue the PO used to attach a carpet to the outside. I think it looks much better in black though!
