Recently parted out a 95 525i auto with 190k miles. Believe motor to be original to car although I didn't get any records. Car ran and drove fine, was parted out cuz of rust, beat to hell interior and generally needing a complete suspension/brake overhaul
Cold compression tested motor, all cyls between 160-180psi
Ran good and smooth, If I were putting it in my car I would do valve cover gaskets, serp belt, exhaust mani gaskets, spark plugs, spark plug boots, and the breather hose that tends to gum up.
Will sell complete with all accessories, harness, and dme. DME is not a red label 413 so you may need an EWS delete chip, or just get a 413.
Only thing I can't guarantee is AC compressor as there was no charge.
Looking for $700 firm for a quick sale. If you buy this all you need is E36 motor mount arms which bolt up in 3 minutes, much easier than sourcing an E34 oil pan, pickup, dipstick, etc.
Can be picked up in Walpole, MA or possibly delivered a reasonable distance for gas money.
