Picture, Picture : Name That Leak

    89 325i w/ 150,xxx miles. I'm the new owner. Unknown service history.

This is taken from the washer fluid bottle.

Planning the timing belt in Spring. What else am I replacing to fix this?

    Thanks guys.

Replace the cam shaft seal and o-ring and clean the grunge off the engine. Also adjust the valves and replace the gasket and all four rubber bungs. The only other possibility for oil there would be the head gasket.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Please tell me more about the bungs? I'm trying to get a comprehensive list to pass on to Blunt so I can order these parts. Want to go in and tackle it all at once. Thanks for the help.

Also, what is the bottom most item the belt is attached to? Power steering?

the "bungs" are rocker shaft plugs. Replace them with the valve cover gasket

          Sweet. Thanks gentlemen.

I saw I have the torx style bolts under the valve cover, too. Those need replaced?

added leak question...are there not supposed to be bushings in the valve cover bolt holes? realoem doesn't show them. seems like i saw them somewhere, just cannot find again. new valve cover gasket and rocker shaft plugs, still leaks around the cover bolt holes.

There aren't any bushings for the valve cover fasteners on an M20 engine. Since the studs pass through the gasket it provides the seal.
