    DIY: Custom "Flush Mount" Sub Level Control

    Started with a generic "taiwan amp" sub level knob and a blank plate:

    Here is how it looked with the cover off:

    The guts:

    Cut up the mounting bracket:

    Cut to size:

    Remounted knob:

    Drilled a couple holes:

    Filed the face flat(ter):

    Used excellent glue:

    Just a tiny bit of glue:

    Stuck the glue to the back of the blank plate, making sure the face was alingned:

    And...finished:

    Have fun!
    Luke

        Well, had no plans to, as this is a very easy job, I would rather share my tricks than find blank plates, find knobs, make sure they work after I am done...

        BE GENTLE if you do this, that pot can easily break off. I would want to "pot" this in some kind of epoxy, but I am lazy on my car.

                            Damnit Luke... I was completely against stand alone sub fader control. Now I have work to do... and wire to run... damn damn damn.

                            I was perfectly happy using the level control on my head unit... grrrrrrrr.

                            EDIT: Was so busy berating you I forgot to compliment you on your fine work. Thank you for the info/idea.
