Timing belt tensioner spring/pin needed! Will drive to pickup NorCal

    hello guys, two quick questions.

    1. Does anyone have a timing belt tensioner spring and pin that I can buy?

    2. Is this the right part of the forum to post this urgent request in?

I bought an E30 last weekend off this forum and am in the middle of turning it into a daily driver. I've been taking pictures for an intro-to-r3v thread, but just ran across a problem I'd like some immediate help on.

My timing belt was squeeking so I spent this morning starting to replace it. Got to the part about replacing the tensioner and saw that I don't HAVE a tensioner!

So I'm looking for all advice and help on how to get my hands on one as quickly as possible.

ok looks like images are not re-sized on here. sorry to the 56k people.

so i'm in Redwood City at the moment at 4:15pm, and just don't have the heart to leave a message at Peter Pan BMW and tell them that I'm a greasy E30 owner looking for $6.26 worth of odd parts.

    And they're closed tomorrow. Blast.

Gonna have to source this stuff from some internet friends it looks like!

Never mind! Just gonna tighten up the tensioner without the spring/pin assembly.

hey dude! sent you a text.

Anyway, posting in the California regional forum would probably get you a better local response.

thanks man, wasn't sure where to post for the most eyeballs.

i actually posted in gen. discussion and got a great response. one guy offered me a spring and another told me to not even bother with it.

everything turned out better than expected...

anyway, got the new water pump on and new tensioner on now and about to get the hands greasy again to put the timing belt on. hopefully it runs as good as it did when i took it apart!
