Most of the disassembly is straightforward, but my problem was that the switch wouldn't stay engaged - the recirc switch clicked in and stayed on, the ac engaged, but you had to keep a finger on it. So just accessing the metal connectors wasn't enough.
I pulled it apart to see if I could fix it. To get the buttons out of the housing you need to take a razor to the rectangular plate on the side of the switch. Once you do, flip it over and you see two white plastic sliders (on the piece in the foreground below. Guess which side was for the ac?
I reckon you _could_ fix it, but I paid for a working one.
