Question about a 1977 530i,come on in and take a peek.

Well, while combing my local yards for E30 gold I came across a 77' 530i,in absolute mint condition with only 55k on it. In the junkyard :letitout: Anybody know if i should grab this stuff? I am feeling like i should save it.(check the pics) Anybody know what forum these would be on? Where i would ask? Check out the fan controls around the Clock!love it!Thanks guys.

do you really need to ask if you should? the real question is if you will

It's the state law. Some states have that once it hits the junkyard lot, it's unsellable. Before that point, they can be sold as a whole unit as a repairable.

State laws vary. IIRC, PA has that if the boneyard possesses it, they cannot sell it. But I'm willing and hoping to be wrong in this case.

Buy that whole interior NOW. I had one of these years ago and would've killed that interior. Not sure of any specific forums, but list it on bimmerforums and cl for starters.

I had a '79 528i back in the day. I loved it. Especially after springs, Billy's, etc. That said the earlier E12s - like this one - were more problematic. As I recall the real hit was that they were prone to overheating, but I'm not sure if that was car- or engine- based. Maybe both - not sure. The move from the 3.0-liter to the 2.8 cured it.
